Red Lake Elders Reunite to Celebrate Life and Native Culture

Anishaa, which means “just for fun” in Ojibwe, is the mood set for all elders at the 6th annual Red Lake Gathering of Elders.

The two-day event provides all elders above the age of 55 an opportunity to reunite with old friends, meet new ones and also to be informed of accessible resources such as tribal programs and healthcare services.

For many elders, this is also an opportunity to share their teachings with the younger generation.
