Record Number of Gifts for CLC’s Virtual Christmas Gift Sign-Up

Around this time every year, Central Lakes College hosts a children’s Christmas party. Because the pandemic has limited students and staff and CLC’s campuses this year, they went with a different idea to make sure every child gets gifts.

Usually around campus there are trees with envelopes hanging on them that contain gift ideas for children of students, but this year, CLC went with a virtual sign-up event as a way to let volunteers buy a gift. Although the Christmas party will not happen this year, the virtual event actually had a record number of people volunteer to buy gifts.

CLC Director of Student Life Erich Heppner says the virtual sign-up may be used in the future because of the event’s results this year.
