Public Advised of Loud Noise, Smoke During Camp Ripley Training

People in communities near the Camp Ripley Training Center will be hearing some loud noise and seeing smoke trails throughout the next few weeks.

National Guard soldiers are working to meet training requirements and certifications with large caliber weapon systems. Camp Ripley officials say this required training period will equip the soldiers should they need to defend the state and nation.

Also beginning tomorrow morning, the Minnesota National Guard will be conducting flight exercises from Camp Ripley to the Walker Municipal Airport as part of their regularly scheduled annual training. The exercises will run until the early house of Jun. 5. Five Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters from the 34th Combat Aviation Brigade will be used in the training.
