Police Will Be On Alert For Busy Holiday Weekend

More than 300 law enforcement agencies will kick off extra DWI enforcement patrols from today until Dec. 30.

In Minnesota Thanksgiving is one of the top holidays with the highest percentage of drunk driving-related fatalities.

From 2006-2015 there were 6,228 DWIs and 43 fatalities with 11 related to drunk driving.

The Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety is in charge of the extra enforcement.
