Police Body Cameras To Get Hearing In Cass County

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office will hold a meeting on a proposed update to department policy on the use of police body cameras.

According to the Brainerd Dispatch, all Cass County patrol officers have body cameras. Sheriff Tom Burch says that deputies have been using them for six or seven years.

The updated, written policy and public hearing are designed to help the department comply with new state laws and to better inform the public about policies in place.

All department members are expected to wear a body camera while assigned to patrol and court duty.

The meeting will be held at 9:00a.m. November 1st.
