Planning Begins On Minnesota’s First Off-Road Vehicle Touring Trail

The Department of Natural Resources has recently entered into a special partnership with the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council and the Minnesota Four Wheel Drive Association. The partnership will expand adventure-touring opportunities for four- wheel drive enthusiast. Expansion will include more than 40 miles off trail from the shores of Lake Superior to the North Dakota border. The route will link various roads such as the existing state and national forest roads as well as township roads and connecting spurs. The roads will be accessible to any vehicle with an off-road vehicle sticker. Discussions will begin soon to identify stakeholders, define goals, and develop timelines.
