Orange Cones & Construction Zones Are Coming to the Brainerd Lakes Area

Orange cones and construction zones. Get ready to see a lot of them in Minnesota and the Brainerd Lakes Area. Now that the weather is warm enough the Minnesota Department of Transportation is preparing for a summer of working on our roads. And the first project on the books is expanding the left turn lane at the HWY 371 HWY 210 intersection. HWY 371 is going to be very busy this year with three different projects happening on it this summer. First MnDOT is looking to reseal HWY 371 then use it at the end of the summer as a detour route in Pine River for a bridge replacement.

MnDOT says roadside work can be dangerous especially with distracted driving increasing. So the Minnesota State Patrol says they’ll be doing everything they can to enforce slower speed to keep roadside workers safe. MnDOT also says HWY 10 through Sauk Rapid and St. Cloud has already started single lane head to head traffic and advice motorist to take alternative routes or expect delays until they reopen all four lanes for Memorial Day Weekend.
