One Dead After Storm Sweeps Through Parts of Minnesota

On person is dead and several others have suffered injuries as a result of storms that swept through parts of Minnesota.

The Cook and St. Louis County sheriff’s offices reported three incidents that took place after 10 P.M. Sunday evening.

One incident was near Duncan Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern Minnesota. Four men were trying to seek shelter when a tree fell and injured one man, killing another. The two other men were not hurt in the incident.

No name has been released for the deceased victim.

Another incident involved two adults and six children near Crooked Lake. Lightning struck near a group of trees leaving three injured.

Many of the injuries reported have been non-life threatening. The recovery of the deceased victim is still under investigation.
