Northwoods Adventure-Zorbaz Gull Lake Challenge and Peter Johnson Memorial Swim Race

The inaugural Zorbaz Gull Lake Challenge Peter Johnson Memorial Swim Race hit the waters of Lake Margaret in Nisswa Saturday. 75 swimmers competed in the race that donated proceeds to the Brainerd High School swim teams. The race also honors late swim enthusiast and community leader Peter Johnson, who died May 2012 while rescuing his grandson on the Gull River. Johnson’s daughter Erica swam the race as the rest of the family watched her complete the 2.4 mile challenge. The distance equals the length of the swimming portion of the Iron Man race.
