Northwoods Adventure – Zorbaz Gull Lake Challenge and Peter Johnson Memorial Swim Race

The second annual Zorbaz Gull Lake Challenge and Peter Johnson Memorial Swim Race made a splash in the waters of Lake Margaret on Saturday. And Kaneski says with the rise in popularity of open water swims, having the race in the Brainerd Lakes Area was a no brainer. Contestants came from near and far for this year’s race, and they say they couldn’t have been happier with how the second annual event turned out. Especially happy with the day’s events was Karen Zemlin, who won the race, crossing the finish line in just over 49 minutes. They hope to continue to grow the race, but it’s the memory of the late swim enthusiast Peter Johnson that keeps this race going.
