Northwoods Adventure: Star Wars Jubilee

Negative temperatures brought bundled up visitors to the city of Nisswa on the holiday weekend for the 43rd Annual Nisswa Jubilee.

Regardless of the cold, guests huddled around the campfires and still enjoyed the activities planned for the day.

Guests from all over Minnesota and even Wisconsin participated in the wood splitting contest, kids enjoyed the snow mounds and even some of the most famous movie characters from outer space made an appearance in the form of a snow sculpture.

Even with the harsh conditions for the five sculpting groups, their final products seemed to be a favorite among young star wars fans.

The Jabba the Hutt was the winner of the sculpting contest and a 250 dollar prize. Hansen says the continuation of the event is to entertain those visiting and to continue attracting them back.
