Northwoods Adventure: Minnesota State National Archery in the Schools Tournament

Around 1,500 youth archers represented schools from across Minnesota in different divisions competing at the state archery tournament.

This was the first time the competition has moved from the cities up north to Bemidji State as they see the numbers in archers continue to grow.

The competition is set up for the archers to shoot at the 10 meter range with one practice round and three scoring rounds shooting five arrows. They then repeat the rounds at a further distance of fifteen meters aiming for the middle yellow target to earn a possible ten points.

Under the National Archery in the Schools Program this sport has reached thousands of youth in the nation to help develop an interest in this sporting industry.

The competition allowed the top ten individual archers in each division to move onto nationals.
