Northwoods Adventure Gone Deer Hunting

Daybreak in Bemidji. Hunters tromped into the north woods for the start of deer hunting season. It’s a time for many to reconnect with nature.
I woke up at 5AM to meet Bob around 6:30AM near his stand in southern Bemidji. It was my first time hunting experience in Minnesota but my hunting host guided through the morning.
Next all there was to do was wait and stay warm. After over three hours of waiting for a deer we decided to call it a day.
However that didn’t stop me from having the full deer experience. We retreated back inside for breakfast with venison sausage and tales of the one that got away.
Although we weren’t able to get a deer we were still able to honor the animal during our breakfast.
