Rain wasn’t going to hold back festival goers attending the 37th Eel Pout festival known as Mardi Gras on ice.

It was a neighborhood of fish houses with people just enjoying each others company, some attempting to fish, and others well, it’s a festival you have to see with your own eyes; which is why is was voted one of the weirdest Midwestern festival.

The eel pout is know for being one of the ugliest fish, but not all.

The kissing legend still lives on and for those who have never attended the festival, first timer Joanna Sheelander has one piece of advice.
