Northwoods Adventure: DNR Discusses Permanent Fish House Removal for Season

Folks in Brainerd had to pack up their permanent fish houses by the March 1st deadline. But residents in the northern part of the state can leave theirs out for another two weeks, until March 15.

But this doesn’t mean you can’t use a fish house anymore. You can haul out the house every day or sleep in a shelter on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise, as long as the ice is still safe.
