Northwoods Adventure-Amazing Animals

Summer presents a wonderful opportunity for kids to explore nature. The Amazing Animals Summer Camp in Brainerd provides kids with education to better understand and appreciate wildlife. The Discovery Woods Montessori School hosts the camp with 12 eager learners from first through third grades. The kids get up-close looks at several kinds of critters. During this particular session, the group studies birds, more specifically the birds’ diet. The students dissect owl pellets and identify the bones of creatures the owl consumed. The kids also journey outside to catch and identify different insects. Dragonflies appear a popular target.
