The first snowflakes of the season fell early this morning in parts of northern Minnesota Friday morning. What started off as rain quickly changed to snow as cold air came in behind the front that brought rain too most of the state.

Up to a half-inch of snow coated the ground in parts of St. Louis County.

The snow is expected to melt quickly Friday, even as colder air is expected to move Friday night.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the low falling into the low 30s across Minnesota Saturday morning.

If you capture those first flakes on camera please share your pictures or video with us. Email your first snow images to [email protected]. You may see your images appear on our social media pages or on tonight’s newscast.
