No Recount in 8th Congressional District

Republican congressional candidate Stewart Mills said he is backing off plans to request a recount in the 8th district.

Stewart Mills said he doesn’t want a recount after all, calling the estimated $102,000 cost “excessive.”

The republican candidate says that he congratulates Congressman Nolan. Mills says that while they did not always agree on everything, he respects the Congressman, and wishes him the best as he moves forward representing the 8th Congressional district.

Rick Nolan beat Stewart Mills by more than half a percentage point on Election Day.

Mills said he would donate part of the recount cost to Salvation Army.
