NK School District Separates From Superintendent

The Nashwauk-Keewatin School Board unanimously approved a separation agreement with Superintendent Lance Northey on Friday, according to the Herald Review.

The board has held a series of closed meeting since August regarding a performance evaluation of the superintendent. On October 5th, the board held a closed door meeting for the consideration of disciplinary action against an employee. When the meeting re-opened, the agenda noted a special meeting about hiring a law firm for a special investigation and appointment of an infirm superintendent.

The details of the agreement will become public once it is signed by all parties involved, according to the Herald Review. Derek Gabardi has been appointed as the interim superintendent. He previously served as the N-K High School Principal.
