Nisswa Lions Host Charity Golf Scramble for Ronald McDonald House

People in the Brainerd Lakes Area visited the Whitefish Golf Club for the Nisswa Lions Charity Golf Scramble on September 25.

Proceeds from the event in Pequot Lakes went toward supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities, with various local organizations also sponsoring different holes on the course.

The RMHC has been supporting children around the world for over 50 years, helping them access the care and resources they need for medical, dental, health, and housing needs. Whitefish Golf Club General Manager Logan Jackson saw how the organization treats families firsthand.

“My family was personally impacted by it. Our son spent quite a long time at the Children’s Hospital down in Minneapolis,” he said. “And while we were there, the Ronald McDonald House is really just a place to take care of you, take care of the families that are going with children that have a health concern. They provide meals, they provide free lodging, they provide activities. To be able give back to that and kind of continue that for other families is really what we’re doing here.”

17 teams took part in the scramble, where more than $21,000 was raised.
