New Little Falls Coalition for Justice for Bryon Smith

They call themselves Citizens for Justice for Byron Smith Coalition. They’re a group in Little Falls of people ranging from friends of Smith and those who never met him and fear what Smith’s trial could mean for the Castle Doctrine, which allows you to shoot and kill anyone who’s endangering you in your home. The coalition’s founder Beverly Nouis says she decided to do something after learning Smith had to pay for the funerals of the teens he killed after they broke into his home.
The coalition’s spokesman Richard Smith, no relation to Byron Smith, says he got involved because he didn’t think the proper authorities investigating the prior break-ins took the case seriously. And had they the teens would still be alive and Byron Smith wouldn’t be in jail.
While the coalition formed to support Smith, others came because they fear, what would happen to them if they defend their home.
The coalition says they won’t just focus on Bryon Smith’s case, but any other cases they think the home defender was unjustly punished.
