Moondance Jam Celebrates 23rd Anniversary

Moondance Jam is celebrating its twenty-third anniversary. This year, the classic rock festival started by the Bieloh family is giving fans a soundtrack for the summer with fifteen national acts on the main stage.

Twenty-five-thousand jammers pack Walker for the four day festival, a number event organizers say they can be proud of. Moondance Media Coordinator Bernie Schumacher says people start lining up at the gates hour before the event opens, but Moondance hasn’t always been this big. Bill Bileoh and his wife Kathy started the festival after spending a night at a campfire in the 90s.

Now rock legends like Styx, Foreigner, and REO Speedwagon carry on the tradition as the rock and roll party grows each year. On Saturday night, REO Speedwagon, George Thorogood, and Badfinger take the stage for the final night of the festival. Tickets are still available at the gate.
