MnDOT to Spend $70 Million Dollars on Road Construstion

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be speeding up some of their roads. MnDOT says they will spend $70 million dollar to speed up 13 projects. And most of that money is going towards the Highway 371 project in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Central Minnesota’s District 3 will receive $45 million dollars to complete the HWY 371 expansion to increase safety from Nisswa through Jenkins. The $45 million will also fund a bypass just to the east of downtown Pequot Lakes. MnDOT is using money from Corridor of Commerce fund to start the HWY 371 expansion two years ahead of schedule, which will allow faster and safer travel for motorist driving through the lakes country. After HWY 371 is expanded to Jenkins, MnDOT plans to find more funding to continue the expansion project up to Pine River.
