MN DNR To Auction Off 40 Parcels Of Land

In October and early November, 40 parcels of land will be auctioned off by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The properties range in unimproved recreational land and residential lakeshore parcels in Aitkin, Cass, Clearwater, Cook, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Lake and St. Louis counties.

The sizes of the properties do vary. According to the release the the Minnesota DNR regularly sells land, which is no longer needed for its original purpose, after a thorough internal review, and after giving state agencies and local governments opportunities to purchase the land.

On Tuesday, October 25th, nine northwest Minnesota parcels will be auctioned at the County Administration Building in Bemidji.

Then on Thursday, October 27th, 27 northeastern Minnesota parcels will be auctioned at the Lake County Courthouse in Two Harbors.

Finally on Thursday, November 3rd, four parcels in north-central Minnesota will be auctioned at DNR Brainerd area office.

Proceeds from land sales go to the DNR division that had managed the land and are used to purchase and develop lands better suited to that division’s conservation goals.
