Mississippi Music Concert Series

A concert series will take place in Bemidji for the first time this summer.

It’s called “Mississippi Music at the Shoreline”. The Bemidji Downtown Authority, along with city manager Nate Mathews, has been working on booking the event for the last several months.

Eight acts will perform every Wednesday from after July 4 to the end of August on the Lake Bemidji shoreline. Authorities say the concerts will likely be held on an open grassy area across from downtown Bemidji and next to the chamber of commerce building.

The first artist will be Patty and the Buttons, a Minnesota band. Seven of the eight acts are local, with a group called Dead Soldiers coming from Memphis, Tenn., to perform.
