Minnesota Veterans Seek Help At MACV StandDown

Established in 1990, MACV got started providing housing for four homeless veterans. 25 years later, they now serve more than 25,000 vets each year, with events like their StandDown. With over 50 providers of veteran services, the StandDown is simply a way to get veterans all the resources they need in one location.

And although this was the first time this event has been held in the Brainerd Lakes Area, both organizers and veterans say events like these are a necessity for service men and women. And although he was unable to attend, Congressman Rick Nolan sent his support to the veterans as well.

With events like these, MACV strives to “serve, inform, educate and train others to carry a message of hope.”
