Making healthcare more accessible and more affordable. That’s what MNSure says is the purpose of the Affordable Care Act. Another factor of the Affordable Care Act was trying to make healthcare more affordable. Essentia Health says they started implementing a cost saving practice before the law. And they’re now one of the leaders in the country for offering the lowest cost to their patients.
All 13 states saw more than a 4% drop of uninsured citizens expanded medicaid and setup a state exchange. Of the 29 states that haven’t embraced the ACA, most have seen the slowest decrease in uninsured and two have seen an increase in uninsured citizens.
Essentia Health says the next step for Minnesotans after getting healthcare is to start being proactive with your health. Preventative healthcare like eating right and exercising is a great way to keep costs down.
While Minnesota already has one of the lowest uninsured rates in the country MNSure says they’re still available to help anyone get coverage.
