Merrifield Family Home Destroyed In Fire

11 people, including six children, were uninjured after a fire engulfed a home in Merrifield Sunday night. According to the Brainerd Dispatch, the fire happened around 9:30 P-M.

Firefighters from Mission, Nisswa and Crosslake assisted with the fire located at the 14000 block of Green Forest Circle. According to the Dispatch, Mission Fire Chief Randy Roach said the family was able to evacuate the rambler home safely. He did not release the homeowners’ names.

According to the Dispatch, one of the daughters saw a fire on one of the levels of the home. She was able to alert everyone about the fire. The occupants attempted to put out the fire while calling 911, but were unable to do so.
Requests for comment were not immediately returned from Mission Fire.

According Nisswa Fire Department, the home was a total loss.
