Mark Munson Memorial School of Rock

Mark Munson was a popular chiropractor in the Brainerd Lakes Area before he decided to retire and follow his dream of being a rock star.

All was well with Munson until he received some devastating news three years ago when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

For Most people, receiving a terminal cancer diagnoses would be enough for them to wallow in self-pity. However, Munson decided that he is going to use however much time he has left to give back to other young passionate musicians with his Mark Munson Memorial School of Rock

The Mark Munson School of Rock would be a music summer camp available to kids grade six through twelve years of age.

In order to get the summer camp started Munson is hosting a special fundraiser party this Sunday at the Arrowood Conference Center in Baxter. Their goal for the event is to raise twenty five thousand dollars and they have already raised eighteen thousand dollars in seven weeks.

For Munson music has brought so much joy to his life. He is hoping that his school of rock will bring the same amount of happiness to others.

No matter how much time Munson has left he knows his legacy will last forever because Rock and Roll never dies.
