Man Charged In Workplace Shooting

Prosecutors charged a man with trying to kill his wife at her St. Paul workplace last week.

On Wednesday the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office charged 47 year-old Bruce Steurer of St. Francis with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

According to the complaint, Steurer surprised his ex-wife at her job at Anchor Mold and Tool Company on Nov. 23 and shot her with a shotgun as she ran down the stairs from him.

Steurer was arrested after he shot himself in the head of Anoka County park. His ex-wife was treated for a collapsed lung and other injuries from the incident, according to the Associated Press.
