Man Accused Of Causing Bus Crash Fails To Appear In Court

The Chattanooga, Tennessee man who is accused of driving the car that struck a Bemidji school bus in May failed to appear in court today for his scheduled hearing in front of Judge John G. Melbye.

Thomas Lee Nielsen, 29, is accused of driving through a stop sign and striking the bus on May 3. Several children inside the bus were injured in the crash.

Judge Melbye issued a warrant for Nielsen’s arrest and imposed $1,000 bail after Nielsen failed to to appear at his scheduled court appearance Friday morning.
