Mail Truck Catches Fire in Baxter

Baxter, MN – A U.S. Postal Service worker’s mail truck caught fire Friday evening along highway 371 north of Baxter.

Kia Rodman, Brainerd, was the postal worker driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. The fire began in the engine compartment of the mail truck around 6:00 p.m., according to Deputy Brainerd Fire Chief Dave Cox.

The video was recorded by Baxter resident Michelle Price, who posted the original video to YouTube. She was driving nearby with her children when she noticed the fire.

Rodman was treated for a slight case of smoke inhalation, but suffered from unnoticeable symptoms otherwise.
