Lt. Governor Announces Broadband Upgrade Grant

Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith today announced over $2.5 million dollars in grants is going towards broadband upgrades in Central Minnesota. During today’s announcement the panel said Internet accessibility is a critical part of our evolving infrastructure.
Consolidated Telephone Cooperative or CTC will also be investing almost (two and a quarter) million dollars towards the project. They say while the cost might be a lot up front, it last longer.
Local business owners and general managers told the Lt. Governor during the announcement how important faster Internet is to the Brainerd Lakes Business community. It even plays a role in keeper campers here longer.
The project will bring high speed internet to almost 350 premises in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties.
