Long Prairie Police Continue Search For Impersonation Suspect

The Long Prairie Police Department says an investigation of a possible police impersonation incident is ongoing. A suspect has not yet been identified and no known similar incidents have been reported to the department so far.

According to a Facebook post by the department, the incident happened around 10:30 P-M and 12:40 AM on the evening of August 23rd into the morning. The unidentified person approached the reporting person at Todd 27 Apartments and identified themselves as the police. The reporting party did not know the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male between 5’10” and 6″00, with a goatee and muttonchops for facial hair, a clean haircut, wearing a blue short sleeve shirt with Police on the sleeve and a dull colored badge, dark blue cargo pants with button pockets and black boots. The police are also looking for a potentially involved vehicle described as a tan or silver older style SUV, which may be a Tahoe.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying anyone involved with this incident, and ask that you contact the Long Prairie Police Department with any information.
