Local Businesses Welcome Students in Bemidji

Cars are out and about, stores are getting crowded, and more people with backpacks are hitting the streets…school is officially back in session. It’s an exciting time for students and faculty, but it’s an even more exciting time for local businesses. Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce President Lori Paris said, “We’ve got a whole group coming into the community that are going to make this their permanent home.” Before hitting the books, many students have to hit up local shops to fuel up for the year ahead. Also, many businesses offer discounts and post welcome messages to make students feel at home. Paris says the back to school season is an exciting time of year and one season that drives the Bemidji economy.
