Little Falls Surprise Mayoral Candidate

For the past three years, a Little Falls woman has been fighting the city government in defense of her constitutional rights. In November she will attempt to become a part that same government. We summarize the political journey of the surprise mayoral candidate.
In May 2012, Robin Hensel filed a lawsuit against the city of Little Falls for violating her rights to free speech for making her remove signs in her yard.
She added another complaint in 2012 against the city when she was denied the ability to purchase an advertising bench on City Hall property.
A federal judge dismissed the sign ordinance lawsuit, and Little Falls reached a settlement with Hensel to allow her bench at City Hall.
Hensel was arrested at a City Council Meeting for disorderly conduct on June 7th, 2013.
Hensel has recently decided to try joining City Hall, rather than fighting it. She filed for mayor on August 11th.
She will run against Mayor Cathy Van Risseghem and Councilman Greg Zylka.
Hensel will appear in court to fight her disorderly conduct charge.
