Lieutenant Governor Visits Harrison Elementary School

Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith visited Harrison Elementary school to talk about the benefits of full time preschool and kindergarten.

Kindergarten and preschool teachers from Brainerd gathered at Harrison elementary school to hear Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith talk about the importance of full day kindergarten and to share their opinions on the subject.

In the meeting teachers voiced how there is a clear difference between the children who have had the opportunity to go to a preschool or full day kindergarten and those who have not.

Studies have shown that offering children full time preschool and kindergarten can help them achieve their ultimate potential.

The Lieutenant Governor believes that investing in children early will put them on the right track when they get older.

The Lieutenant Governor hopes to shape her proposal by continuing the conversation with principles and teachers all over the state.
