Lawmakers Will Not Decide Their Salaries

A group of Minnesotans will now be deciding lawmakers salaries.

On Tuesday’s ballot, citizens did not just vote for the President. Citizens were given the chance to decide whether or not an independent citizens commission would be deciding state lawmaker salaries in Minnesota, according to the AP Exchange.

Out of those who voted, 81% (2,261,143 votes) said yes to having an independent citizens commission, according to the AP Exchange. The AP Exchange also reported that only 19% (535,292 votes) said no.
