Lakeland Public Television Starts Official Construction On New Facility

Lakeland Public Television (LPTV) is one step closer to getting a new building. Today marked the official groundbreaking of our new facility that will be the home of our future local programming. The LPTV staff kicked off the Building For The Future event with the help of board members, legislators, local supporters, and even Clifford the Big Red Dog.

LPTV’S Bemidji base has been operating from the Bemidji State University campus since going on the air in 1980, but the station has simply outgrown the space. The new facility will provide the space the staff needs to bring positive programming options to the public.

During the ceremony, thanks was given to the state of Minnesota and local legislators for providing the station with three million in bonding dollars, but local support has also made this dream a reality. The goal is for the facility to be open next spring.
