Haydee Clotter joined the Lakeland news team in October 2016. She is thrilled to start her broadcasting career in Bemidji, Minnesota. Haydee is originally from Houston, Texas, and has lived there most of her life.
As a writer for the University of Houston’s sports newspaper, The Daily Cougar, Haydee was able to expand her experience covering the women’s volleyball and tennis team.
Some of her past experience include an internship with Houston Press. Some of Haydee’s work can be seen in USA TODAY College, The Marine Corps Times and the Military Times.
Haydee received her bachelors from the University of Houston and masters from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Journalism. While at Medill Haydee had the opportunity to cover stories in two of the largest and busiest cities Chicago and Washington, D.C. Haydee also has traveled abroad to Argentina and worked on a project featuring sweatshops and human trafficking.
In her spare time Haydee enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and working out. She is also a huge sports fan and enjoys watching football and basketball. Fun fact: Haydee is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently. Viva Honduras!
