Lake Friendly Awards
The lakes are vital to the economy, identity and future of the Brainerd Lakes Area. Protecting water quality proves vital to the region. Crow Wing County recognizes people going the extra mile to preserve the lakes at the 12th annual Lake Friendly Awards.
The county awarded people in three categories: lake protection strategy, lake stewardship, and lakescaping. Preventing runoff proves a major key to preserving a lake’s health.
Julie and Charles Costa and Bar Harbor restaurant won the two lakescaping awards.
The Brainerd Lakes Rotary Club and Peter Berg and Margaret Blistain claimed the lake stewardship awards. Protection strategy awards went to the Army Compatible Use Buffer and Crow Wing County.
