Kinship Partners Ask for Mentors

For years the kinship partner program has been making a difference in children’s lives. This program is not only life changing, it is also necessary.

For almost thirty years the Kinship Partners program has been successfully putting mentors and positive role models in kids lives. Giving youth an opportunity to reach their full potential and develop a personal relationship with a caring adult.

The mentors come in all ages and backgrounds. Kids from five years old to the age of four-teen years old have the option to get a single mentor, a couple mentor, or a family mentor.

Most of the kids come from a single family home or are just in need of a friend, and would be a good fit for a mentor. The impact that the mentor has on a child’s life is life changing. Some of the benefits include improved school performance and attendance, reduce of high school drop outs, improved health, and the reduce of juvenile crime.

The Kinship Partners currently have over two hundred children successfully being mentored. However there are over forty children still waiting for someone to step up and be their friend.

There are no requirements or guidelines of what makes a good mentor, the only thing that is asked of a perspective mentor is that you take a little bit of your time to spend it with a child and make a difference in their life.
