Keeping Brainerd’s History Alive

Photos from as far back as the 1800s were scanned and saved today as part of the Brainerd Library’s effort to keep Brainerd’s history alive. The library received money from the Legacy Program to bring in an amateur historian and scanner to collect old photos, slides and negatives.

Photos are coming in of old buildings that don’t exist like the Ransford Hotel and grocery stores. They picture show Brainerd with old cars and horse and buggy days. All of them showing different views of what Brainerd use to be.

The Brainerd Library has open times for people to come and donate their old photos of Brainerd. They’re hoping to have enough photos to make another Brainerd History Walk book.
