screen-shot-2016-09-13-at-4-17-09-pmA 28-year-old Chisholm woman was arrested on Wednesday selling large amounts of methamphetamine.

Whitney Perkovich was charged with two felony drug counts at the State District Court of Hibbing on Friday. Perkovich also has a gross misdemeanor charge for introducing contraband into jail.

She could face up to 30 years in prison with a possible $1,000,000 fine.  Perkovich was arrested for selling approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine within 90 days.  The meth was to be sold on the Iron Range. Her bail is set at $300,000.

Boundary Waters Drug and Violent Crime Task Force found 353.9 grams of methamphetamine in a stuffed monkey on September 7th.  The monkey was located in Perkovich’s 2004 blue Dodge Stratus.

According to Forum News Service, a criminal complaint was filed to the State District Court due to an increase in reports from citizens.  The task force learned Perkovich was at the Grand Casino in Hinkley around 3 a.m.. on Wednesday.

Perkovich proceeded to the Twin Cities, then North U.S. Interstate 35, and lastly back to the Iron Range on Minnesota Highway 33. With a search warrant, law enforcement was able to pull Perkovich over around 4 p.m. leading up to her arrest.
