Invasive Species Confirmed In Cass Lake

The Forest Service announced today that it would close the Knutson Dam boat access ramp, campgrounds and parking area due to a starry stonewort infestation. The agency will keep the area within the Chippewa National Forest closed until January 1st, to implement a treatment plan and for a previously planned construction project. Treatment will include using a copper based herbicide like the one used in Turtle Lake.
