In Focus: Leech Lake Arts League

Members of a Walker group have been meeting together for the last half a century.

They aren’t the Walker Art Group’s original members, but the now-called Leech Lake Arts League holds sessions every Thursday for creative expression and critique. In the summer, they draw crowds in the dozens.

People work on paintings, sculptures and other forms of art. Projects are usually done solo, but occasionally people will work together to get things done.

The group is currently looking for younger members to help carry on their traditions.
