In Focus: Fosston Fiber Festival Preview

Knitting and crocheting are just some popular ways to weave a piece of clothing, but this weekend in Fosston, finger loop binding and the Scandinavian naalbinding are just some ancient techniques you can learn at the town’s Fiber Festival.

In its second year, the Sustainable Sheep and Fiber Community returns bigger with free classes and demonstrations on the agenda.

“We want to educate consumers on the fiber art and we want to give consumers an opportunity to make a fair wage for their products and do that locally,” festival committee member Alethea Kenney said.

There will be more than a dozen vendors showcasing their fibers, some with a personal story to share.
