In Focus: Atypical Art Classes Continue To Inspire

Art classes at pubs and restaurants have gained widespread popularity over the last few years. Class participants are able to paint a variety of landscapes and objects in a comfortable setting with some assistance.

Lisa Stawarski designed the concept for the company when her daughter moved back home and wanted something to stay creative.

Part of the concept is having a mobile business. They create different contracts with area bars, pubs, or restaurants. This might mean splitting parts of the entry ticket profits, a flat fee or another arrangements with the establishments. The Backus Legion allows TAP to use the space for free.

The community aspect is what the founders wanted to highlight with their venture.

Another appeal of the event is the simplicity. The company supplies all of the needed materials and a teacher to guide you through the process.

Kellie Strong is the artist leading today’s class. She says she loves teaching people of various art experience.

Sandi King says she was excited to be at her first one with her daughter. She said her project was going pretty well so far.

This is Tassy Singer’s third time coming to a Traveling Art Pub event. She says there’s a few reasons why people keep coming back for more.
