In Business: North Central Door Company Produces Quality Garage Doors

“There’s two things that we hang our hat on at North Central Door. We may not always be the lowest priced option, but we’re gonna be high quality and also we stand by behind our product. Our customer service team is bar none top notch,” says Justin Holley, the HR Manager for North Central Door Company.

North Central Door Company knows about the importance of a good quality garage door. It’s more than a sheet of metal – it has to protect, insulate, look stylish and last for years to come. The product is tested in the most bone-chilling Minnesota winters and the hot and humid summers to ensure quality.

“Living up in the northern climates, we’ve learned how important a good garage door is if you’re heating your garage or whatever the case might be, and so our value of our doors is really good, especially our thermal door. It’s foam surrounded by two metal skins and it’s a good product, a good quality product,” says Holley.

The manufacturing facility can produce around 400 panels a day. The company also employs 84 people. One thing North Central wants to do is dispel the myth that manufacturing is boring.

Holley says, “Here at North Central Door we believe in working hard but also playing hard. We have great recognition programs, we cater in food a lot, we have fun throughout the day, we laugh a lot and so we get the job done, yes, but we do it in such a way that we have a fun time doing it.”

North Central Door has been in Bemidji for more than 50 years. Naturally, they’ve gotten involved in a various area charity organizations. They help in the areas that matter most to their employees.

“We like to help animals, we like to help people and we also like work with athletic programs in the area as well as art programs and things like that, so we’ve sponsored music down at the waterfront. We’ve ran projects to help out the food shelf and the animal shelter,” says Holley.
