I.R.S. Scam in Full Swing

The US Census is conducting some local activity in the area. If someone representing the Census Bureau approaches you, request to see their ID before answering any questions.

According to a Facebook post from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Department their dispatch center is also receiving many calls regarding another IRS scam the sheriff’s department posted about last week. They ask the public to keep in mind the IRS does not conduct business in this manner over the phone requesting personal information or demanding payment. If you receive a call from an IRS impersonator advise them you want the correspondence by mail, and they should have the information. Do not provide them with any personal information.
